How it works

How does KnittingFix diagnose my problem?

You describe your problem in text and optionally upload photos or a short video. Our AI โ€” trained on thousands of knitting problems and solutions โ€” analyses your description and images, matches it against our knowledge base, and generates a personalised step-by-step solution. Most responses take under 2 minutes.

Can the AI really understand photos of my knitting?

Yes. We use a vision-capable AI model that can identify dropped stitches, twisted stitches, tension issues, incorrect stitch counts, and many other common problems from photos and videos. Photo submissions have a significantly higher resolution rate than text-only submissions.

What happens if the AI can't solve my problem?

If our AI's confidence falls below 75%, your problem is automatically escalated to Emma. She reviews it personally and provides a written response โ€” Pro members within 4 hours, Expert members within 1 hour. You'll get an email when she replies.

What types of problems can KnittingFix help with?

Almost anything: dropped stitches, twisted stitches, tension problems, reading charts and patterns, yarn substitution, cast-on and bind-off methods, increasing and decreasing, colourwork, lace, cables, short rows, finishing techniques, and more. Our knowledge base covers 200+ common and uncommon knitting scenarios.

Who is Emma?

Emma is a knitting expert with over 20 years of knitting experience and 12 years of teaching. She's the human expert behind KnittingFix โ€” reviewing the trickiest problems, recording video explanations, and hosting live Q&A sessions for Pro and Expert members.

How quickly does Emma respond?

It depends on your plan. Hobby members receive Emma responses as needed (typically within 24 hours). Pro members get priority responses within 4 hours. Expert members within 1 hour. Expert members can also chat with Emma directly.

Can I get a video response from Emma?

Pro members receive 1 Emma video response per month for especially tricky problems. Expert members have unlimited video responses and a 15-minute monthly video call with Emma.

Is there really a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan gives you 3 AI diagnoses per month, full access to the knowledge base (200+ articles), and read access to the community forum. No credit card required.

What's included in the free trial?

Hobby and Pro both come with a 14-day free trial. Expert has a 7-day trial. No credit card is required to start your trial โ€” you only add payment details if you decide to keep the subscription.

Can I switch plans?

Yes, any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period โ€” you keep your current plan's features until then.

Is annual billing available?

Yes. Annual billing gives you 2 months free (equivalent to a ~17% discount). You can toggle between monthly and annual on the pricing page.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time โ€” no questions asked. Cancel from your account settings and you'll keep access until the end of your billing period.

Knowledge base & community

Is the knowledge base free to use?

Yes. All members โ€” including the free tier โ€” have full access to all 200+ knowledge base articles. Non-members can browse the category list and read 3 featured articles without an account.

How is the forum different from the AI help?

The forum is for community conversation โ€” sharing projects, asking for opinions, participating in knit-alongs. The AI help tool is for getting specific problem solutions quickly. They complement each other well.
